I am the owner, creative director, and principle consultant at Sophie Grace Couture, the premier boutique and concierge for mommies, babies, and mommas-to-be. Where I use my expertise to tackle the unique challenges that come along with parenthood. I am a native Texan, busy wife and mother of five! I began my career in retail focusing on fashion merchandising and management. Little did I know that the skills I would gain would shape my future endeavors. After the birth my first child I was so impressed with the quality of care I received at the hospital I began a new chapter working as a clinical assistant at Seton Medical Center on the Mother Baby Unit. At Seton I gained relevant experience, in postpartum care of mom and baby, and became skilled in newborn care and certified in CPR & phlebotomy. I eventually became the nursery coordinator working closely with obstetricians, pediatricians, nurses and neonatologists. I helped prepare the moms for discharge by helping with pediatrician selection and making follow up appointments. While I loved my job the long hours of a hospital kept me away from my family. I decided it was time to stay home and relish in the delights of motherhood. A few years later I returned to work full time working as a sales & marketing director where I concentrated on creative design. I also freelanced as an event planner in my spare time, planning several weddings, numerous birthdays, and baby showers. Being a busy working mom I was pretty content. My husband Steven and I discovered we were pregnant with our youngest daughter Sophie on our wedding anniversary. It had been 10 years since my last pregnancy. It was like being a new mom all over again, But my planning instincts took over and I re-educated myself on all the ins and outs of maternity. While pregnant IK literally spent tons of time searching for chic unique baby products for Sophie. Not finding exactly what I wanted I began creating unique hats, headbands, and bows for my unborn daughter. I also started crafting couture diaper cakes and hospital door hangers. After nine months Sophie was born on Christmas morning. Determined to stay home with my daughter, it gave me the inspiration to start Sophie Grace Couture. I had seen luxury baby boutiques, fabulous event planners & maternity concierge. But nowhere was there an all in one resource, where you could basically create a signature lifestyle for you and your baby. Taking my multitude of experience in fashion, design, event planning, motherhood, and the invaluable clinical experience and translated it all into a brand that can help any parent succeed and create a dream setting for their child. I am also a proud member of the International Academy of Baby Planning Proffessionals.
